HELEN EMMA DAVENPORT CHATWIN
“GRANDMA CHATWIN”

September 12, 1924 – May 27, 2014
Our beloved and sweet Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother was called home to her Heavenly Father and her awaiting husband on May 27, 2014 surrounded by loved ones.  Helen was born on September 12, 1924 in her grandmother’s home in Parowan, Utah to Ida Walker Jones and John Alvin Davenport.  Helen was a strong resilient woman full of compassion and empathy for others. She loved music and was a songbird who brightened the lives of her family, friends and everyone whose lives she touched.
During the Great Depression, Helen’s family moved from Parowan to many small southern Utah towns before they moved to Payson.  While in Payson, Helen worked at By’s Café where she met handsome Cleon J Chatwin.  On their first date, on June 3, 1943, Cleon took her fishing on Utah Lake; the only thing Cleon caught that day was Helen’s heart.  Seven weeks later they were secretly married on July 21, 1943 by a close friend on the banks of Cottonwood Creek in Salt Lake City, Utah.  A week later on July 28, 1943, a civil ceremony was performed in her parent’s backyard.  Their marriage was later sealed for Time and All Eternity by proxy in the St. George Temple on June 15, 1993.
After the untimely passing of Cleon in December 1972, Helen focused on their children, raising four out of eight of them on her own.  In the early 80’s Helen returned to Genola and lived the rest of her years there.  She enjoyed many trips with family members to Hawaii, South Dakota, San Francisco, Oregon, Washington, Mexico, Europe and Israel.  Helen enjoyed painting and also had a deep love for music that was instilled in her from her grandfather and she spent many years in choirs and singing groups and also performed solos.  She had the voice of an angel.  She often would break into song for no reason whatsoever.
Children were a huge part of Helen’s life, known to many as simply Grandma Chatwin.  She adored children and loved working with them.  She volunteered over 34 years of service in elementary schools; the last 24 years she was Grandma Chatwin to literally hundreds of children in the Goshen School District’s Foster Grandparents Program, working as a Teacher’s Aide in kindergarten. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Patsy Barlow and Teona Shepherd for watching over Grandma at school.
Helen loved the gospel and her Savior.  She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many positions in the church; her favorite being the Compassionate Service Leader as she enjoyed serving others.  She was part of the choir and sang often.  Helen loved attending the Temple and treasured the day she was sealed to her darling Cleon.
Grandma Chatwin is survived by her eight children, Lorin (Mavis), Harvey (Bonnie), Merrill (Kathy), Linda, Charles (Kathy), John (Rozina), Helen (Lorin) Holm, and Laura.  She is also survived by her 52 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cleon; her brothers Clynn and Harvey Davenport; and her grandson, Gary Lynn Chatwin.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 12:00 noon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Genola Church), Center & Main Street, Genola Utah.  A viewing will be held at the same location on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 6-8 pm and Tuesday from 10:45 to 11:45 am prior to services.  Helen will be laid to rest in the Santaquin City Cemetery next to her love, Cleon.
Grandma will be deeply missed by all those who loved her and those who have been touched by her sweetness. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Angie and Marie at Hearts for Hospice for their gentle and compassionate care of Grandma.

Together they worked hard to create a wonderful home, where children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends loved to gather often.  Mom and Dad just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.  Mom was the master party planner and was always the life of the party. She loved to vigorously decorate her home for every season and holiday. She was a dedicated school teacher for over 26 years, teaching Jr. High P.E. and 2nd grade students at Wilson Elementary. BART JARVIS

June 23, 2014, full throttle, pedal to the metal, he left us in a cloud of dust, waving good-bye with tears in our eyes.  Wishing we could take one last ride around the block with Lanny Bart!!
Bart’s life was truly an adventure and he enjoyed the ride.  From the time he was a young boy riding the Honda 50 around the yard to his teen years racing at Santana Raceway and in demolition derbys.
As a young man Bart enlisted in the US Army.  He was very proud to serve his country. Bart was deployed to Vietnam and served as a Crew Chief/Gunner on helicopters.  During one intense battle his helicopter was shot down and Bart was critically wounded.  Through determination he valiantly saved the lives of his crew while under enemy ambush and was later rescued to return home to share his life and love with family and friends.
Riding motorcycles on the West Desert, fixing up cars, hunting, fishing and boating – Bart loved to make every minute count.
Family and friends will have lasting memories of our time spent with him.  Bart’s “no fear” attitude inspired all of us to reach beyond our limits and find the true meaning of life.
No valley too deep.  No river too wide.  And no car fast enough.  The checkered flag is waving; you've crossed the finish line and won the race.  All the cheers and tears are for you, Bart.
Many tears will be shed for we have lost a man who we love and loved us all unconditionally. He inspired us with his strength and ambition and we will always remember him as our Hero.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Roberts Jarvis; his son, Shad (Ashley) Jarvis; his daughter, Pari (Ehren) Klein; grandchildren, Maddox and Haven Jarvis, and Chase Klein; siblings, Bob Jarvis, Sherrie Wood, Judy Gonzales, and Coy Morgan.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen & Sadie Jarvis and a son, Tyler Jarvis.

REVA DEAN GOUGH STUBBS LIMB

In the early hours of Friday January 9, our mother slipped away from this life into the hands of our Savior.
She is joyfully reunited with her parents Richard Albert Gough and Aleene Kay,  and her husband Wayne Smith Stubbs.
Mother was born on Oct. 13 1934 in Payson, Utah.  She enjoyed growing up on a chicken farm at the mouth of Payson Canyon.  Her father farmed and worked in the mines and as an electrician.  Mother often said she had to walk to school uphill both ways.  She didn't know that she lived through the Depression as it seemed to be only the city slickers that didn't have their basic needs met.  She felt spoiled because her dad and mom let her trade eggs for candy at the store anytime.
She graduated from Payson High in 1952.  She moved to Lindon to work on a fruit and berry farm for her aunt.  It was around this time she met Dad and fell in love, marrying in the Salt Lake City Temple on Nov. 4, 1954.  To this union of 41 years they were blessed with four boys, Brent Richard, Gary Wayne (Penny Hendry), Reid Kay (Amy Wilson), Joseph Dean (Jolene Finch).  She enjoyed raising her boys with our father.
Living first in Provo next to her in-laws and then building their second new home in Genola on the family farm. Mother loved these times and often reminisced.  Dad passed way after 41 years of marriage on Nov. 29, 1995.
Four years of being a widow was enough.  A friendship which she enjoyed in High School was rekindled and mom married Marvin J. Limb in her yard with the backdrop of her home and beautiful flowers on June 8, 2000.  Together they enjoyed over fourteen years traveling and coexisting.  Mom enjoyed having companionship and Marvin's four children joining the family.  She learned to love and care about Joni, Sandy, Michael, and Karma.  She also gained more grandchildren.
Mother is survived by her four sons and daughters-in-law, her husband and step-children, her sisters Janet Rose (Clark), and Mariel (Baird),  grandchildren, nephews, nieces and many friends.  She loved us all! We will truly miss her.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Genola LDS Chapel located at Main and Center.   Friends may call on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah and on Monday at the church from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. prior to services.  Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
