JACK ANTHONY MARSHALL
43 Marshall Image.jpg
Jack Anthony Marshall’s life was one of adventure and love. His adventures started in Price, UT on Oct 31, 1946 where he was born to John and Minnie Marshall.  Throughout his life Jack found hobbies and passions in each place he lived and in each stage of his life.  From finding arrowheads in Moab during his high school years, to hunting and fishing in Wyoming and Colorado while working for UNOCAL, he embraced the world around him.  When he was transferred to California further away from the mountains that he loved, he quickly switched gears to work more on another hobby he had always had, working on his cars, namely classics.  He spent many happy hours in his garage, especially his big garage in Woodland Hills, UT that he built himself.  After working for UNOCAL for 28 years in various manager capacities, his favorite job was working for the city of Woodland Hills as public works director after he had supposedly “retired”.
Jack married his college (Utah State University) sweetheart, Eunice Dixon, on August 1, 1969. After graduating he loyally served his country in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam.  He came home to his first baby daughter and jumped into fatherhood with a son and another daughter.  He loved his family so much and was the best father and husband.  This led to his favorite title of all, that of “Papa” to his 10 grandchildren.  He made everything in life more fun with his practical jokes and quick sense of humor.  Jack loved to serve other people and did this in every aspect of his life.  He served his country. He served in many church callings.  One of his greatest services was serving with his wife as a temple worker in the Los Angeles, CA temple and the Provo UT temple where they had been sealed many years earlier.  Even towards the end of his life, he continued to serve by choosing to participate in an experimental clinical trial with the sole purpose that his participation could help others beat cancer.  He was a loyal friend and helped anyone and everyone.  He was a hard worker.  He was full of integrity and love.  His voice may have been quiet but his presence was large and we will miss him every single day.
He is survived by his wife Eunice, children Mindy (David) Hymas, Jared (Rebecca), and JaNece (Pat) Mendoza, sisters Mary (Jeff) Myrup and Kathleen (Linden) Laws, and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral  Services were held on Friday, Oct 5, 2014 at 1:00 pm.  Viewing was Thursday Oct 4, 6:00 - 8:00 pm and Friday Oct 5, 12:00 – 1:00 pm at Woodland Hills Chapel, 220 S. Woodland Hills Drive, Woodland Hills, UT.  Services were under the direction of Legacy Funeral Home. To send condolences please visit www.LegacyFunerals.com
