Douglas LeVon York
Douglas LeVon York, 81, our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away into the arms of his Heavenly Father on February 5, 2015 from bone cancer in Payson, Utah. He was born July 6, 1933 to LeVon and Gladys Finch York. He married his sweetheart Norma Ingram June 19, 1953; they were sealed in the Provo Temple June 19, 2012.
He joined the Army from 1955 to 1957 and was stationed in Germany (Hell on Wheels).
He had a great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed trapping, hunting, camping, and running bear and mountain lions with his hound dogs. Doug was a great story teller. He shoed horses and loved bowling.
He is survived by his wife Norma, their 3 sons Allen (Tracie) York, Craig (Lynn) York, and Kent (Stacy) York, 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitations will be held Monday, February 9, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary in Payson, 587 South 100 West, and Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the LDS meeting house at 780 West 500 South in Payson. Interment will be in the Santaquin City Cemetery.
